Serving the Blackfeet Nation
FAST Blackfeet is a Native-led Nonprofit that proudly serves the Blackfeet Nation, a sovereign nation encompassing the Amskapi Piikani (Southern Piegan) people.
As part of the broader Blackfoot Confederacy, which spans the US-Canadian border, the Amskapi Piikani people have a deep-rooted connection to our ancestral lands and the natural world. We continue to uphold our cultural traditions and advocate for their community and environment in the contemporary world.
Through 3 comprehensive programs, we are increasing food security and promoting food sovereignty.
-Ō’yō’·ṗ’ Food Pantry: Combating Food Insecurity on the Blackfeet Nation
-Nutrition Education: Building back traditional food knowledge and combating diet-related health disparities
-Growing Health: Promoting the production of local and traditional foods + medicines and reclaiming food sovereignty
Our "Why"FAST Blackfeet is committed to working towards the food sovereignty of the Blackfeet community by recognizing the right of the tribe to maintain access to foods that retain their cultural identity and acknowledge rights historically granted in treaties and other documents.
